Are we supposed to know the first ten pages of chapter 49?

i missed lecture on 2/14 and am not sure what was covered. do we have to knwo about sensation/amplification/transmission/thermoreceptors etc?

As for the first 10 pages of chapter 49, you are responsible for 1045-1047, don't worry about 1048-1054, just know that there are different receptors {1048-1049}(mechano, thermo, etc and a general idea, chemo - chemical, mechano - mechanical [eg pressure], thermo - temp, etc etc)
you are responsible for the end of 1054, where 49.3 starts and onward. We did not cover hearing or equilibrium in lecture, so you are not responsible for those.
