Immunity - D segments ? antigenic variation?

what are D segments?
it was on the word list together with V and J segments.


and antigenic variation,
does this refer to the variation we can get from
immunoglobuline gene rearrangement?

D segments are part of the genes for the heavy chains (along w/ V&J) that undergo rearrangement to make antibodies

antigenic variation is the process an organism undergoes to changes its antigens to avoid being picked up by the immune system
